The two mistakes almost everyone makes
1. Looking at watts instead of lumens and Kelvin. Watts show consumption. Light is lumens and colour is Kelvin — and colour is what will irritate you daily if you get it wrong. 2700K for a living room, 4000K for a kitchen, 6000K only for a storeroom.
2. Ignoring heat. An LED produces less heat, but its electronics fear it. A bulb in a sealed fitting and a strip without an aluminium profile lose brightness long before the stated life.

Frequently asked questions
- Which colour should I choose?
- 2700K for living rooms and bedrooms, 4000K for kitchens and bathrooms, 6000K only for storerooms.
- How many lumens equal a 60W bulb?
- Around 800 lumens. Watts show consumption, not light.
- Why is my strip losing brightness?
- Usually heat. An aluminium profile works as a heatsink and extends its life.
- Does it work with a dimmer?
- Only bulbs explicitly marked dimmable — and even then, old dimmers may need replacing.
Choose a category above — and remember: lumens for light, Kelvin for colour, and mind the heat.
