What are you after?
The Gunpla grades
- Entry Grade (EG) — the simplest, few parts, one to two hours. Ideal for a first build and for children.
- High Grade (HG) — 1/144 scale and the most popular grade. Good detail, an afternoon of work.
- Real Grade (RG) — 1/144 with an inner frame and very high detail in a small size.
- Master Grade (MG) — 1/100, inner frame and moving parts. Expect a full day.
- Perfect Grade (PG) — 1/60, hundreds of parts and lighting on some. A build of several days.
Beyond Gundam
Yolopark makes Transformers and Evangelion kits on the same snap-fit principle. Blokees offers affordable kits in blind box packaging, while Motor Nuclear covers mecha outside the Gundam universe.
Revell brings licensed kits from Star Wars, Star Trek, Stranger Things, Top Gun and World of Warcraft, and Bburago Formula 1 and Ferrari cars at 1/24 scale. Unlike Gunpla, these do need glue and paint.
Book nooks & miniatures
Book nooks are lit micro-scenes that slot between the books on a shelf, and miniature room kits are whole rooms at palm scale. You will find Cutebee, Tonecheer and wooden Puremind sets. They are assembled by hand, include lighting and tiny furniture, and are among the most striking gifts in this category for someone who is not into figures.
Paints, glue & tools
The same category carries everything you need to work: GSI Creos Gundam Markers for panel lining and touch-ups, modelling glue, brushes, nippers and Revell work stations. For a High Grade a decent pair of nippers and a black marker are enough — you add the rest as you go.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need glue and paint for a Gundam kit?
- No. Bandai Gunpla are snap-fit and the parts come pre-coloured, so a kit can be completed with no glue and no painting. Glue and paint are needed for Revell and Bburago kits, and if you want a better finish.
- Which grade should I pick for my first kit?
- A High Grade. It costs little, finishes in an afternoon and has enough detail to tell you whether you enjoy the process before investing in a Master or Perfect Grade. Entry Grade kits are simpler still and suit children.
- How long does a build take?
- An Entry Grade one to two hours, a High Grade three to five, a Master Grade a full day and a Perfect Grade several days. Time also depends on how carefully you clean up the cut marks.
- What tools do I need to start?
- A pair of nippers and a fine file are enough. A black Gundam Marker for panel lining makes a visible difference for very little money. Everything is in this category.
- Are book nooks difficult?
- They need patience more than experience. There are many small parts and some light wiring, but the instructions are step by step and no special tools are required.
- Can I collect my order from the shop?
- Yes. Order online and choose collection from our Thessaloniki shop, with no shipping cost. We ship across Greece and Europe by courier.
Take a High Grade, a pair of nippers and a black Gundam Marker. It is the cheapest route to finding out whether you enjoy building, and all three are on this page. If you would rather have finished figures, see Collectible Figures.
