Office
Microsoft Office
Genuine licences with instant delivery – one-time purchase or subscription.
Microsoft has used so many names that very few people know what they are actually buying. In practice there are two entirely different things:
You pay once and it is yours. Word, Excel, PowerPoint on one computer.
No cloud, no new features – but it never goes away.
You pay every year. The same apps on up to five devices, with cloud storage and new tools.
Stop paying – you lose the apps.
The rule: if you work on one computer and do not care about cloud storage, the one-time purchase works out cheaper within about eighteen months to two years – and after that you never pay again.
There are two one-time licence editions in circulation. Both include Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and both work perfectly well. The difference is one thing:
Lower price, same applications. It opens and edits everything normally.
Ideal for documents, coursework and home use.
Security updates until October 2029, with improvements to Excel and to search.
For a work machine, or if you would rather not think about it again for years.
In practice: if you write documents and coursework, the 2021 edition serves you perfectly well and costs less. If the machine is a work machine or you handle sensitive data, take the 2024 for the security updates.
A subscription is not a rental that leaves you with a reader afterwards.
The day you stop paying, the apps lock and the cloud storage drops to the free tier. Your files remain yours – but you need something to open them with.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I buy Office once, without a subscription?
- Yes. There is a one-time licence that you pay for once and own for good, for one computer. It includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint, without cloud storage and without new features. If you work on one computer, it works out cheaper within about eighteen months to two years.
- What happens if I stop the subscription?
- The apps lock and the cloud storage drops to the free tier. Your files remain yours, but you need something to open them with. With a one-time licence that cannot happen.
- 2021 or 2024 – what is the difference?
- Both include the same applications and both work normally. The 2021 edition costs less and is perfectly fine for documents, coursework and home use. The 2024 edition receives security updates until October 2029 – choose it for a work machine or sensitive data.
- Are the licences genuine?
- Yes, 100%. They activate normally and are delivered instantly by email. You have support and a physical store in Thessaloniki.
- Does it work on Mac?
- Yes. Both the one-time purchase and the subscription are available for Windows and for Mac. Just note that a one-time licence covers one device – PC or Mac, not both.
