Web Cameras
48 cameras from Logitech and Lenovo, for video calls, teaching and streaming. Because a laptop camera films you from below and in poor light.
- Logitech 25 · Lenovo 9 and others
- 27 cameras with a 24-month warranty
- Resolutions from HD to 4K, with a built-in microphone
- USB connection — they work with no installation
Why not the laptop camera
Three reasons. Angle: the built-in camera sits low and films you from below, which flatters nobody. Sensor: it is tiny in order to fit a thin lid, so in low light the picture fills with noise. Position: you cannot move it without moving the whole machine.
An external camera solves all three: you place it at eye level above the screen, it has a larger sensor, and you point it wherever you want.
What to check
Resolution. Full HD comfortably covers any video call. 4K makes sense for streaming or when you want to crop the image without losing quality.
Field of view. A narrow angle shows you and hides the room — ideal for an office. A wide angle fits more people, useful in a meeting room.
Autofocus and light correction. The better cameras compensate for a bright window behind you instead of turning you into a silhouette.
Privacy cover. A small detail you appreciate every time a meeting ends.

Frequently asked questions
- Does it need installation?
- No, USB cameras are recognised immediately by every current operating system. Software is only needed for advanced settings.
- Full HD or 4K?
- Full HD is enough for any video call. 4K makes sense for streaming or if you want to crop without losing quality.
- Does it have a microphone?
- Most do, and it is better than a laptop’s. For serious voice quality, though, a separate microphone is clearly superior.
- Why do I look dark?
- Usually because there is light behind you. Turn so the light is in front of you, or choose a camera with light correction.
A camera improves how you look, but sound decides the impression. If you choose only one thing, choose a microphone.
