Where a used tablet fits
The tablet is perhaps the category where buying used makes the most sense — because the use is usually light.
For a child. Video, educational apps, games. And there is a practical reason too: a child will drop it. It is very different dropping a used one than a new expensive one.
For reading and video. In bed, on the sofa, travelling. It does not need speed — it needs a screen and a battery.
As a second screen or for recipes in the kitchen. Uses where a new expensive tablet would be a waste.
For an older person. A large screen, simple use, video calls with the family.
What to ask
Battery. As with any battery device, it has degraded. Ask us about the specific unit.
Updates and apps. Older tablets may not accept the latest app versions. If you want it for a particular app, tell us which and we will check.
Ecosystem. Amazon tablets run their own software, with a different app store from the usual one. They are excellent for reading and video; if you need a specific app, ask us first whether it is available.
Storage. If the tablet is for offline video or for a child with many games, ask us whether it accepts a memory card.
Condition and warranty
On some products you will see a condition grade, such as Grade A, as supplied to us. On others there is none — and that does not mean worse condition, it simply means that particular unit came without a grading. If appearance matters to you, ask us about the specific unit before ordering.
For the warranty on a specific unit, see the product specifications or ask us. A 14-day right of withdrawal also applies to distance purchases.
