What you will find
Hubs and docking stations: one USB-C cable from the laptop gives you HDMI, Ethernet, USB ports, a card reader and charging. The single-cable desk solution.
Video converters: USB-C or HDMI to DisplayPort, VGA and DVI — to connect a new computer to an older monitor or projector, and the other way round.

Before you buy
- Check what port you have — USB-C does not always carry video. Some ports handle data and charging only.
- Resolution and refresh rate — a cheap converter may cap you at 4K 30Hz. If you need 60Hz, look for it explicitly.
- Power delivery — to charge the laptop through the hub you need Power Delivery and enough watts.
- Length and build — long passive cables lose signal at high resolutions.

Frequently asked questions
- Does every USB-C port output video?
- No. The port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode. Many USB-C ports, especially on cheaper laptops, carry data and charging only. Check your device specification.
- Can I charge my laptop through a hub?
- Yes, if the hub has Power Delivery. Watch the wattage: a 65W laptop will not charge properly from a 45W hub under load.
- Will it run 4K at 60Hz?
- It depends on the adapter and the port. Many budget converters cap at 4K 30Hz. Supported resolution and refresh rate are listed on each product.
- What does CARLINKIT do?
- It converts a wired CarPlay or Android Auto head unit into a wireless one. Plug it into the USB port once and the phone connects automatically afterwards.
- Do I need drivers?
- In most cases no — Windows, macOS and Linux recognise these adapters automatically. A few network cards are exceptions, and we note it.
- Can I collect my order from the shop?
- Yes, choose collection at checkout, with no shipping cost.
Write down the port you have and the port you need before ordering. Half of all adapter returns happen because the USB-C port did not carry video.
