Child or adult? They are not the same product
Razor covers mainly children and teenagers — low speed, light weight, for a yard or park. Segway operates in the adult segment, for real city commuting.
The difference is not only speed. An adult scooter has larger wheels — which is the critical factor on uneven pavements and potholes. Small, hard wheels catch on every irregularity and are the number one cause of falls.
The numbers that do not tell the truth
Range. The stated figure is measured in ideal conditions: level ground, a light rider, steady moderate speed, mild temperature. In reality — hills, stopping and starting, a heavier rider, winter — expect noticeably less. Allow a margin, particularly if you need it for a round trip.
Hills. This is the real test. A scooter that performs on the flat may crawl or stop on a gradient. If your route has hills, ask us — it is not visible in the specifications.
Weight. If you will carry it up stairs or onto public transport, weight matters more than power.
Safety and rules
A helmet. On an electric scooter, falls happen without warning — one pothole or kerb and you are on the ground head first. It does not compare with a bicycle, where you have time to react.
Lighting. Scooters are hard to see at night. Front and rear lights, and reflectors.
Brakes. Check them regularly. A scooter picks up speed quickly on a slope and the brake is all that stands between.
Traffic rules. Greece has a framework for light personal electric vehicles — speed limits, where riding is permitted, age and mandatory equipment. Check what currently applies before riding, because the provisions have been amended and continue to evolve.
The battery and its care
Do not leave it flat for months. Lithium batteries are permanently damaged by full discharge. For winter storage, charge it to around half and check it every two months.
Do not charge in extreme temperatures and do not charge unattended indoors.
Tyres. If they are pneumatic, pressure changes a great deal — both range and comfort.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the stated range accurate?
- It is measured in ideal conditions. With hills, stops and winter expect noticeably less — allow a margin.
- Will it climb hills?
- It depends on the model. A scooter that performs on the flat may crawl on a gradient — ask us about your route.
- Why larger wheels?
- Small hard wheels catch on every irregularity and are the number one cause of falls on uneven pavements.
- What are the legal rules?
- There is a framework for light personal electric vehicles with limits on speed, age and equipment. Check before riding — the provisions evolve.
- How do I store it over winter?
- Charged to around half, not flat, checked every two months. Full discharge permanently damages the battery.
For a city, look at wheel size and hill performance — not top speed. And a helmet, always.
