- What is PoE?
- Power over the network cable. The camera takes power and data from one cable — a huge difference in permanent installations, since no socket is needed at each point.
- Do I need a PoE switch?
- Yes, or a separate PoE injector. Without one the camera will not draw power from the cable.
- What does 5MP mean?
- The image resolution. Higher resolution gives more detail when zooming — useful for recognising faces or plates.
- Does it record at night?
- Yes, with infrared night vision. Some models also offer colour night vision with a spotlight.
