BRITA – Water filters & jugs
German company since 1966
BRITA is the reference point in water filtration: filter jugs, bottles with built-in filters and countertop systems.
The MAXTRA and MX Pro filters reduce chlorine and limescale, improving water taste and protecting appliances from deposits — particularly useful in coffee makers and kettles.

Frequently asked questions about BRITA
- How often should the filter be changed?
- Typically every four weeks or every 100 litres. Many jugs have an indicator that prompts you.
- What does the filter remove?
- It reduces chlorine, limescale and certain impurities affecting taste. It does not replace disinfection — the tap water must already be potable.
- Do filters fit every jug?
- Within the same family yes. MAXTRA and MX Pro are not interchangeable with other systems — check the type.
- Does it protect appliances?
- Yes, less limescale means fewer deposits in kettles and coffee makers, and therefore longer life.
