Why the oil makes the difference
The oil inside a radiator never burns and is never replaced — it is sealed. Its role is to store heat.
That changes everything about how the appliance behaves. A radiator is slow to warm up, but once warm it keeps giving out heat even after the element switches off. With a thermostat, the element runs intermittently and consumption drops noticeably.
The second advantage is how it feels: it does not dry the air the way a fan heater does and makes no noise, because it has no fan. For a bedroom it is clearly the best electric option.
The safest electric heater
It has no exposed glowing element, unlike fan heaters and quartz heaters. Its surface gets warm, but does not reach temperatures that ignite materials.
That is why it is the appliance that can be left running all night in a bedroom, with a thermostat — which is not true of any other type.

Timer. Useful for warming the room before you wake or before you get home.
Castors and handle. An 11-fin radiator is heavy. If you intend to move it between rooms, castors are no luxury.
