Why a device rather than a simple file
For normal nails, a file is enough. A device becomes useful when there is something a file cannot solve: hard toenails, calluses, hardened heels or cuticle care.

How to use it properly
On dry nails, not after a bath. A nail softened by moisture files unevenly and the result is hard to control.
Light touch and constant movement. If you hold the head still in one spot, friction creates heat and warms the nail — unpleasant and harmful.
Low speed to begin with. High speeds are for hard surfaces, not for delicate work around the cuticle.
A note on diabetes
If there is diabetes or circulation problems in the legs, foot care is not simply cosmetic. A small wound that goes unnoticed can develop.
