What stops an installation
Never the camera or the recorder — those you plan for. It is always something smaller: a power supply that cannot carry four cameras, a connector that does not fit, a bracket that does not suit the wall corner.

The power supply matters more than it looks
An undersized power supply does not fail immediately — it does something worse. The cameras work, but they restart at random during the night, when the infrared illumination switches on and consumption rises.
The result is gaps in the recording at exactly the hours that matter — and the problem looks like a faulty camera when it is not.
The rule: add up the consumption of all cameras and add margin. A power supply running at its limit heats up and fails early.
And the UPS nobody accounts for
A security system that shuts down with the power does not offer what you think. The moment you need it is often exactly the moment the supply is cut.
A small UPS for the recorder, the router and the switch costs very little and keeps the recording alive. It is the cheapest part of an installation with the greatest effect on its reliability.
