A jump starter: the thing you do not think about until you need it
Noco with 11 products is the name here, and this is a device that completely changes what a flat battery means.
It used to require a second car and cables — which meant depending on someone else. A portable jump starter fits in the glovebox and starts the car on its own, in a closed garage, in the middle of nowhere, at three in the morning.
What to check: the cranking amps must suit the engine — a small starter will not turn over a large diesel, particularly in cold. And check its charge twice a year: a starter sitting flat in the boot is useless at exactly the moment you want it.
Most also work as a power bank and have a torch — which in a night-time breakdown is no detail.
Motorcycle intercoms
With Sena 17 and FreedConn 8, motorcycle intercoms are among the largest subgroups here.
What they solve: talking to a pillion or another rider without stopping, navigation prompts in the helmet, and calls without taking out a phone. On a group trip, it transforms the experience.
Two things that genuinely matter: microphone quality at 100 kilometres an hour — wind covers everything on cheap models; and rain resistance, because the unit lives exposed on the helmet.
And a practical point: check compatibility with your helmet. Mounting differs on full face, flip-up and jet helmets — and some helmets have ready-made recesses for particular ranges.
Car cleaning
Jimmy and Uwant — 23 products together — cover portable vacuums and cleaning devices for the interior.
Their value is not power but that they reach where nothing else does: between the seats, into the trim channels, under the base of a child seat where the crumbs collect.
Practical point: a household vacuum with an extension lead does the job, but with a portable you actually do it — because it takes five minutes instead of twenty.
Child seats: the product where there is no compromise
KinderKraft covers child car seats — and here rules apply that are not a matter of preference.
The seat must match the child’s weight and height, not their age. And it must also fit your car — not every seat installs correctly in every vehicle.
A seat involved in a collision must be replaced, even if it looks undamaged. The internal structure absorbs energy once. For the same reason, do not buy second-hand — you do not know its history.
Installation is half the safety. A correct seat wrongly secured does not protect. Read the manufacturer’s instructions, and if in doubt have it checked by a specialist.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I choose a jump starter?
- By cranking amps and engine size. A small starter will not turn over a large diesel, particularly in cold.
- Do I need to charge the jump starter?
- Yes, check it twice a year. A flat starter in the boot is useless when you need it.
- Will the intercom fit my helmet?
- Mounting differs on full face, flip-up and jet helmets. Check compatibility — some helmets have ready-made recesses.
- Can the intercom be heard at speed?
- It depends on microphone quality. On cheap models wind covers everything above 100 kilometres an hour.
- Can I use a child seat after a collision?
- No. It must be replaced even if it looks undamaged — the internal structure absorbs energy once. For the same reason, not second-hand.
If you have one car and nothing else, a jump starter is the purchase with the greatest real value here — and remember to keep it charged.
