How to read the specifications properly
Two systems with the same processor can differ dramatically in practice. These are the points that decide it:
Drive. Make sure there is an SSD and not only a mechanical disk. It is the difference between a machine that starts in seconds and one that makes you wait at every step.
Memory. 16GB is the comfort point. A system with 8GB will frustrate you early, unless it is strictly for office work.
Graphics card. Check whether it is dedicated or integrated into the processor. For office work no dedicated card is needed; for gaming it is the most important part of the system.
Power supply. On budget systems this is often where the saving is made. If you plan to add a stronger graphics card later, check it.
The brands you will see
Lenovo, HP and Dell are the classic choices for office and business, with standardised support and spare parts. MSI and Asus lean more towards gaming and creative work.
Actina is a European assembler, less well known in Greece than the above, and it covers a large part of this category. Its systems are built from familiar market components, so it is worth judging them exactly as described above: by the components listed rather than by the name.
Upgrading later
The great advantage of a desktop over a laptop or all-in-one is that it does not end when one component ages. Memory, drive and graphics card change separately, and the machine lives another three years.
