Iron Studios’ MiniCo collection welcomes Darth Vader with a stylised figurine dedicated to one of the most iconic characters in Star Wars. Standing approximately 16 cm tall, this piece reimagines the Sith Lord in MiniCo’s signature Toy Art style, with deliberately exaggerated proportions whilst retaining his black armour, helmet and long cape. This release also marks the first time an original Star Wars character has been featured in Iron Studios’ MiniCo range.

Darth Vader is depicted holding a red lightsaber, towering over a base inspired by the technological aesthetic of the Galactic Empire. In his left hand, he holds a hologram of the Death Star, still under construction. At his feet are two further miniature models: his personal TIE Advanced x1 fighter on one side and an AT-AT walker on the other. These elements give the figure the appearance of a miniature diorama dedicated to Imperial military might.

The sculpture particularly highlights Vader’s signature features: his imposing black helmet, the control panels on his armour, his lightsaber and his widely flared cape. The finish features hand-painted details, whilst the base, enhanced with several holographic elements, adds further depth to the composition. Despite its compact size, this MiniCo is thus designed as a complete decorative piece for a collection dedicated to Star Wars or the Galactic Empire.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Darth Vader was originally Anakin Skywalker, a former slave from Tatooine who became a Jedi Knight and a hero of the Clone Wars. Possessing exceptional potential in the Force, Anakin was gradually manipulated by Palpatine / Darth Sidious, who exploited, in particular, his fear of losing those he loved. He eventually turns to the dark side and is given the name Darth Vader.

Following his confrontation with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, Anakin was severely burnt and maimed. Sidious saves him by encasing him in an imposing black suit of armour fitted with cybernetic and respiratory systems that become an integral part of his appearance. Vader then becomes one of the Empire’s key instruments, taking part in the hunt for the surviving Jedi and serving the Emperor directly.

Throughout the original trilogy, Vader battles the Rebellion and gradually discovers his connection to Luke Skywalker. His son’s compassion eventually reawakens what remains of Anakin Skywalker: Vader ultimately turns against the Emperor to save Luke, thereby accomplishing his final act of redemption.

Iron Studios’ MiniCo focuses primarily on Vader in his role as a symbol of Imperial power. The red lightsaber, the Death Star, his TIE Advanced x1 and the AT-AT bring together several of the Galactic Empire’s most recognisable elements around the character, condensed into a single collectable scene.
