MARLON BRANDO – Marlon Brando on a motorbike – Old & Rare Limited Edition 1/6 scale statue, 30 cm
Infinite Statue pays tribute to Marlon Brando with this imposing collector’s statue from the Old & Rare range. Crafted on a 1/6 scale, it depicts the American actor alongside a Triumph Thunderbird, in a composition inspired by one of the most iconic images of 1950s cinema and the rebellious aesthetic associated with the film *The Wild One*.
The sculpture depicts Brando in a relaxed pose, wearing the leather jacket and biker outfit associated with this period of his career. The motorbike is reproduced separately with numerous mechanical details, whilst the figurine rests on a sculpted circular plinth. The piece is made primarily from resin and painted to recreate the textures of the clothing, the face and the various parts of the motorbike.

Origin and character background (Lore)
Marlon Brando is one of the leading figures of 20th-century American cinema. His career includes, notably, the roles of Stanley Kowalski in *A Streetcar Named Desire*, Terry Malloy in *On the Waterfront*, Don Vito Corleone in *The Godfather* and Colonel Kurtz in *Apocalypse Now*. Infinite Statue also cites his portrayal of Johnny Strabler in *The Wild One* as one of the main inspirations for this piece.
Released in 1953, *The Wild One* played a major part in linking Brando’s image with that of the rebellious young biker of the 1950s. His character Johnny Strabler, with his leather jacket, cap and motorbike, became an enduring symbol of this culture in the popular imagination. Infinite Statue notes that the composition of this statue makes direct reference to this iconography, depicting Brando alongside a Triumph Thunderbird.
This image also had a significant artistic legacy: Infinite Statue points out that, in 1966, Andy Warhol used a photograph from *The Wild One* to create a silkscreen print depicting Brando on his motorbike. The Old & Rare statue thus brings this now-iconic association between the actor, 1950s cinema and motorcycling culture into three dimensions.
