Who still uses ink ribbons
Dot-matrix printers print by striking an ink ribbon against the paper. They are the only printers that print on multi-part forms with copies — invoices, delivery notes — which is why they remain in accounts departments and warehouses.
Fax machines such as Panasonic models use copy film in the same way instead of ink.
Find the right one
Every ribbon on this page is an Activejet compatible and the title states which original it replaces — for example Epson LQ-350 or OKI. Search by your printer or fax model.
Frequently asked questions
- Why keep a dot-matrix printer?
- Because it is the only type that prints on multi-part forms with automatic copies, and it has minimal running costs.
- How do I find the right ribbon?
- By the printer model (e.g. Epson LQ-350) — it is stated in the title of every ribbon.
- What is fax copy film?
- An ink roll that some fax machines, such as Panasonic, use to print incoming faxes.
