The three numbers that must match
1. Voltage (V). It must be exactly the same as the original. A 19V charger does not go into a laptop that asks for 20V, or the reverse. There is no margin here.
2. Current (A). It must be equal or higher. The laptop draws what it needs; a charger with more current simply is not strained. Less, however, means heat, slow charging and a machine that drains while plugged in.
3. The plug. Every manufacturer has its own shapes and diameters — often more than one per series. It is the most common ordering mistake.
All three are printed on the old charger or on a label under the laptop. If you cannot find them, send us the exact machine model and we will find them.
Current laptops with USB-C
Many newer laptops and every recent MacBook charge over USB-C with Power Delivery. There is no special plug there: you need a charger with enough wattage and a cable rated to carry it.
Two cautions: a lower-power charger will charge, but slowly and perhaps not while you work; and a cheap USB-C cable cancels out even a good charger. If your laptop asks for 65W, do not try it with a 20W phone charger.
Why the cheapest is not worth it
The charger is the component that feeds power to a machine worth hundreds of euro, and it works for hours every day. Reputable brands include over-voltage, over-temperature and short-circuit protection and safety certifications — cheap units of unknown origin often do not.
This is not theoretical: a bad charger can destroy a laptop motherboard. Which is why 87 of the 164 chargers here carry a three-year warranty.

- How do I know which charger I need?
- From the label on the old charger or the one under the laptop: voltage in V, current in A and plug type. If you cannot find them, send us the exact model.
- Can I use a charger with more watts?
- Yes, provided the voltage is the same. The laptop draws only what it needs. Lower current, however, causes problems.
- My laptop charges over USB-C. What do I need?
- A USB-C charger with Power Delivery and enough wattage for your machine, plus a cable rated for that power. A phone charger is usually not enough.
- Why does the battery drain while plugged in?
- Usually because the charger supplies less power than the laptop consumes under load. You need a charger with the correct current rating.
- Are non-original chargers safe?
- Reputable brands carry certifications and protections, and here 87 products are covered by a three-year warranty. Cheap units of unknown origin are a genuine risk to the motherboard.
