Intel – Processors & components
American semiconductor company since 1968
Intel is the company that defined the personal computer: Core processors sit in the vast majority of laptops and desktops, with the i3, i5, i7 and i9 tiers marking different levels of power.
Beyond processors it makes SSDs, network cards and integrated graphics. When choosing a processor, the generation matters as much as the tier — a newer i5 often beats an older i7.

Frequently asked questions about Intel
- i5 or i7?
- The i7 has more cores and higher clocks. For office and everyday use an i5 is comfortably enough; i7 and i9 make sense for video editing, 3D and demanding gaming.
- Does the generation matter?
- Very much. A newer-generation i5 often outperforms an older i7. The number after the i5 indicates the generation.
- Will it fit my motherboard?
- It needs a compatible socket — LGA1700, LGA1851 and so on depending on generation. Send us your motherboard and we will confirm.
- Is a cooler included?
- On some models yes, on others no. It is stated in the specifications.
