The series turns forty this year – it began in 1986.
And there are two significant things on the horizon:
A remade version of Ocarina of Time has been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, releasing during 2026. No exact date has been given.
Produced by Nintendo and Sony, with the series' creator producing. Expected in spring 2027.
Official images of the actors playing Link and Zelda have been released. It has not been announced which game it adapts – nor even whether Link will speak, since in the games he never does.
The film's date has moved several times, so it is worth confirming.
