Sesame Street first aired on 10 November 1969. For decades it was difficult to watch outside the United States.
Since November 2025 the show has streamed on Netflix worldwide – in more than thirty languages.
In practice: for the first time, children in Greece can watch it easily.
The new season has a refreshed format: eleven-minute stories, built around kindness and compassion.
Favourite segments return – Elmo's World and Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck – alongside new ones, such as the Cookie Cart and Abby's fairy garden.
Who is who – by colour
Children describe colour and shape. Here is the guide:
Red, small and furry, with an orange nose. The most popular of all.
Blue, large, with googly eyes and no nose. He eats cookies.
The enormous yellow bird. Unmistakable from his height alone.
Green and grouchy – he lives in a rubbish bin.
The pink fairy, with wings and a wand.
Also blue – but with a pink nose, and slimmer.
The most common confusion: Cookie Monster and Grover are both blue. They are easy to tell apart: Grover has a pink nose, Cookie Monster has no nose at all.
