Rick and Morty – Characters & Collectibles
It looks like a cartoon. It is not for children – and that is the first thing to know.

First, the important part: it is not for children
This needs saying first and plainly, because the mistake is easy to make.
Rick and Morty is an animated show with bold colours and a teenage lead. On a shelf, it looks like The Simpsons.
It is not. It contains extreme violence and gore, drug use, sexual content and a deeply cynical tone.
In the United States it airs at eleven at night, in a block intended exclusively for adults. The products are aimed at the same audience.
If you are buying a gift for a child and want something similar but suitable, see The Simpsons – satire and humour, but it suits ten and up.
Infinite versions – and here it is deliberate
In every other category, "which version of the character?" is a problem. Here it is the joke itself.
The series is literally about the multiverse: there are infinite Ricks and infinite Mortys, across infinite parallel realities.
That is why the merchandise has dozens of variants of the same two characters – and it is deliberate.
Rick is recognisable by the spiked blue hair and the white lab coat. Morty by the yellow shirt and the anxious expression.
Pickle Rick – a gherkin that became a symbol
The series' best-known product does not even have a human face.
In one episode, Rick turns himself into a pickle to get out of a family obligation. The result – a green gherkin with a face – became the most recognisable symbol of the entire series.
It works on a t-shirt, figure or keyring with no explanation at all.
The same applies to the green portal: the bright green spiral Rick opens to travel. Recognised with no character at all.
In practice: if you are buying for someone you know loves the show but you do not know the details, Pickle Rick or the portal are safe choices.
Where it stands and what is coming
The series is unusually active at the moment.
The ninth season aired from May to July 2026 – ten episodes, finishing a few weeks ago. The home release is expected in November.
And the show has already been renewed through a twelfth season – taking it to at least 2029.
Alongside that, a separate series set in the same universe began in July. And a feature film has been confirmed as in development, with its own continuity – no date yet.
Commercially: unlike series that end, here new material keeps arriving – and with it new figures and new designs.
What to choose
- Funko POP: the most popular category – with dozens of variants of the two characters.
- Figures: Rick, Morty and Pickle Rick.
- T-shirts: with the portal or Pickle Rick – they work with no faces.
- Mugs & barware: among the strongest lines – an adult audience.
- Posters & gifts: art prints, keyrings, lamps.
See also South Park – also animation for adults. And The Simpsons, if you need something suitable for younger viewers.
