Peppa Pig – A Guide for Parents

The family is now five. And that changes something practical when buying toys.

Techbox, Thessaloniki

The family is now five – and it matters

In May 2025 Peppa's family welcomed a third child: Evie. It was the first major change in twenty years of the series.

What this means when you buy:

Older family sets contain four figures – Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy. Newer ones contain five, including Evie.

If the child watches the new episodes, they will look for the baby. It is worth checking what is in the box.

Evie is easy to spot: she has a pale yellow bow and a heart-shaped birthmark on her cheek.

The new arrival also brought a refresh to the series – a new theme song and an updated visual style.

Who is who

Peppa

In the red dress. Four years old, devoted to muddy puddles.

George

The little brother, in blue. He always carries Mr Dinosaur.

Evie

The baby. Yellow bow and a little heart on her cheek.

Mummy & Daddy

Mummy in orange, Daddy in green with glasses.

Useful: Mr Dinosaur – George's little green dinosaur – sells on its own too. It is one of the most recognisable objects in the series.

Ages and safety – please read

Peppa Pig is aimed at children aged two to five. It is one of the few franchises where the buyer is always the adult – the child is too young to choose.

Check the age marking. Many Peppa products contain small parts and carry a 3+ label.

For children under three, the safe choices are plush and large plastic toys with no detachable pieces. Always check the packaging.

The content of the series is entirely gentle: everyday stories, no tension, nothing frightening. It is among the safest available for this age.

Why it works so well at this age

The episodes are five minutes long and the stories are exceptionally simple: a walk, a party, a rainy day.

That is not a weakness – it is the reason it works. A three-year-old can follow an entire story from beginning to end and understand it.

And because the stories are about everyday things – meals, bedtime, siblings – children recognise their own lives in them.

The new episodes with the baby, in particular, help many children who are expecting a sibling of their own.

The series airs in more than 180 countries and runs to eleven seasons.

What to choose

  • Plush: the safest for the youngest – no small parts.
  • Figure sets: check whether they contain four or five figures.
  • The house & the car: the large toys that survive daily play.
  • Mr Dinosaur: sells on its own too.
  • Nursery & school items: mealtime sets, backpacks, clothing.
