How he was born
Indiana Jones was conceived by George Lucas, inspired by the adventure serials of the 1930s. Steven Spielberg directed the early films and Harrison Ford took the role.
The fedora, the whip, the leather jacket and his fear of snakes became instantly recognisable.
The films in order
1981 – Raiders of the Lost Ark · 1984 – Temple of Doom · 1989 – The Last Crusade · 2008 – Kingdom of the Crystal Skull · 2023 – Dial of Destiny.
The final film, directed by James Mangold, closed the hero’s story with Harrison Ford in the role for a fifth time.
The Great Circle game
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle by MachineGames and Bethesda is set in 1937, between Raiders and The Last Crusade. It is a first-person adventure built on exploration and puzzles, and is regarded as one of the best games ever based on a film.
It launched first on Xbox and PC and later on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
