Why it looks retro – and why that is good
You will notice it at once: Fantastic Four products do not look like the rest of Marvel.
The 2025 film takes place in a universe of its own – a world that looks like the 1960s, but with space-age technology.
It is called retro-futurism: vintage cars beside rockets, period design in every detail, and the distinctive blue-and-white suits.
For collecting that is an advantage: the products stand as decorative objects – they suit an adult's shelf or desk, not only a child's bedroom.
And it is the one thing worth asking: do they want the new retro version or the classic comic design? Both are in circulation, and they look quite different.
The four – and they are never confused
This is one of the few teams where nobody looks like anybody else. Each member has a completely different silhouette.
Orange, made of rock. The most recognisable of them all – and the children's favourite. Usually first in demand.
Turns invisible and creates force fields. Her figures often have translucent elements.
Wreathed in flame and flies. Very striking as a figure.
Stretches as far as he likes. The team's leader and scientist.
The enormous adversary of the film. Striking display pieces.
Their historic enemy – with the metal mask and green cloak.
If you do not know their favourite: The Thing. The orange rocky giant is the most recognisable and the most likeable – he works from child to adult collector.
Marvel's most family-friendly corner
Unlike most superheroes, the Fantastic Four are not a team – they are a family. A couple, a brother and their closest friend.
The tone is brighter and gentler than other parts of Marvel, and The Thing is among the most beloved characters for children. It is a category that works for the whole family.
What arrives in December 2026
Their film was Marvel's biggest hit of 2025. And it was not the end.
Avengers: Doomsday – 18 December 2026
The Fantastic Four join the Avengers and the X-Men – the first time all of them share the big screen.
The adversary is Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four's historic enemy – played by Robert Downey Jr. Chris Evans also returns as Steve Rogers.
The first full trailer arrived a few weeks ago – and interest in the team is already rising.
Avengers: Secret Wars follows in December 2027.
During 2026 there are also comics expanding the film's story, the first of which arrived in March.
What to choose
- Figures & Funko POP: The Thing first, then Galactus.
- Apparel: with the team emblem – children's and adult sizes.
- Comics: the classic run and the new series around the film.
- Posters & art prints: the retro look is superb on a wall.
- Mugs & homeware: the vintage styling suits a desk.
- Keyrings & small gifts: easy choices.
The safest choice: The Thing or something with the team emblem – the square with the four. It picks no character and everyone recognises it.
