This is where Bluey separates itself from every other preschool series.
Episodes run seven minutes and do not speak only to children. They speak to the adults sitting beside them – about the exhaustion of parenting, about time passing, about the difficult things that are hard to say out loud.
Creator Joe Brumm did not write a children's show with adult jokes in it. He wrote for the whole family.
Why this matters commercially: it is exactly why Bluey products sell to adults as well – mugs, t-shirts, homeware. Very few preschool series manage that. And parents who buy for themselves buy for the child too.
The film: 6 August 2027
The first Bluey film reaches cinemas worldwide on 6 August 2027, released by Disney, and afterwards on Disney+.
It is written and directed by Joe Brumm himself. The parents' voices return – Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack.
One significant change
The film will be in CG animation – three-dimensional. The series is two-dimensional. It is the biggest visual change in Bluey's history, handled by the producer of Happy Feet and The LEGO Movie.
And season four?
This is what everyone asks, and the answer is honestly unclear.
Season four is in development, but has no date. Joe Brumm stopped writing episodes after the 2024 special "The Sign", to focus on the film.
During 2026, minisodes and specials are being released – shorter-form content, not a full season.
Be careful: "release dates" for season four circulate online. If they do not come from Ludo Studio, ABC, the BBC or Disney, they are speculation.
