In the new film, arriving in 2027, Shrek will look slightly different – the studio changed the rendering technology, not the design. A more detailed face, finer fur.

Until then, every product here is in the classic look – the one everyone has in mind. No version to get wrong.

A Shrek t-shirt or mug is not necessarily a children's gift. It is one of the few categories where the same product works for a ten-year-old and a thirty-year-old.

Children laugh at the talking donkey. Adults laugh at things that go over children's heads. Which is why the adult watching along does not get bored.

The fifth film arrives in summer 2027, seventeen years after the previous one – with the triplets now teenagers and all the original voices.

In 2028 a separate Donkey film follows.
