POKEMON - Window - Shopping Bag

This Pokémon ‘Window’ shopping bag showcases four of the most iconic first-generation Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu and Squirtle. Lightweight and spacious, it is designed to carry shopping, books, accessories or various personal items whilst displaying an instantly recognisable design from the Pokémon universe.

The front is divided into four colourful windows, each dedicated to a different character. Bulbasaur appears against a green background decorated with plant motifs, Charmander against an orange background evoking flames, Pikachu against a yellow background criss-crossed with lightning bolts, and Squirtle against a blue background with aquatic motifs. This composition thus links each Pokémon to its element or one of its key visual characteristics.

Origin and character lore

Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu and Squirtle are among the most recognisable Pokémon from the Kanto region, the main setting of the first Pokémon video games. Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle are the three Pokémon available at the start of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, each associated with the Grass, Fire and Water types respectively.

Pikachu, meanwhile, has become one of the franchise’s main symbols. An Electric-type Pokémon, it plays a central role alongside Ash in the animated series and becomes the player’s starting partner in Pokémon Yellow.

Bulbasaur is recognisable by the plant bulb on its back, which evolves as it does. Charmander has a flame at the tip of its tail and gradually evolves into Charizard. Squirtle uses its shell and aquatic abilities to protect itself and fight, whilst Pikachu concentrates and releases powerful electric shocks.

The ‘Window’ design of this shopping bag directly incorporates these characteristics by associating each of the four Pokémon with a graphic motif that reflects its identity: vegetation for Bulbasaur, flames for Charmander, lightning bolts for Pikachu and aquatic motifs for Squirtle.
