Background and world of the film (Lore)

Kiki’s Delivery Service follows a 13-year-old witch who must leave her family for a year to continue her training on her own. Accompanied by her black cat, Jiji, Kiki settles in the port town of Koriko and sets up a delivery service using her flying broomstick.

Koriko becomes the main setting for her journey towards independence. There, Kiki meets Osono, who welcomes her into her bakery, as well as Tombo, a boy with a passion for aviation. Through her deliveries and the people she meets, she learns to find her place within a community, to overcome her doubts and to build her own self-confidence.

The fictional town blends European architecture, bustling streets, trams and a vast seaport. Its warm and detailed character makes it one of Studio Ghibli’s most memorable settings, perfectly showcased by this jigsaw’s panoramic format.
