KASANE TETO - Kasane Teto Baguette D - Mini plush toy 11cm

This FuRyu mini soft toy depicts Kasane Teto in the ‘Baguette D’ variant. Standing approximately 11 cm tall, it transforms the virtual singer into a small, chibi-style soft toy with rounded features, characterised by a large head and a compact body.

This ‘D’ version stands out clearly from previous variants thanks to its particularly mischievous facial expression. Teto has one eye closed whilst the other is depicted open with a stylised pattern, accompanied by rosy cheeks and a small open mouth with her tongue visible. Her reddish-brown hair retains her two famous twisted strands shaped like drills, complemented by a small curled strand on the top of her head.

Origin and character background (Lore)

Kasane Teto is a virtual singer created collectively by Japanese internet users in 2008. She initially appeared as an April Fool’s joke on the 2channel forum, where she was presented as a supposed new VOCALOID character. The project quickly grew beyond the original joke: a fully-fledged voice bank was developed for UTAU, enabling Teto to become a virtual singer featured in numerous compositions, illustrations and videos created by her community

Her story reached a new milestone in April 2023 with the release of the Synthesizer V AI Kasane Teto to mark her fifteenth anniversary. Her official profile describes her as a 31-year-old ‘chimera’, with reddish-brown hair styled in twin braids, a military-style uniform and a tsundere personality.

The French baguette is also one of the character’s historical symbols: Teto’s official profile mentions it both as her favourite food and as the object associated with her. The name ‘Baguette’ used for this series of mini soft toys thus refers directly to this iconic element of her identity.
