TOKYO GHOUL - Uta - Figure Grandista 27cm

This Banpresto figurine depicts Uta, the mysterious mask-maker from *Tokyo Ghoul*, as part of the Grandista collection. Standing approximately 27 cm tall, it showcases the character’s slender silhouette and her distinctive, dark style. 

Uta is depicted standing in a calm and relaxed pose, with his short black hair, numerous piercings and red ghoul eyes. His arms reveal the tattoos that cover his skin, whilst his impassive expression captures the character’s elusive nature.

Character background and lore

Uta is a ghoul based in Tokyo’s 4th arrondissement, where he runs the HySy Art Mask Studio. In particular, he creates masks for ghouls wishing to conceal their identities when using their powers or facing off against CCG inspectors. The official Weekly Young Jump profile describes him as the owner of this shop, with an intimidating appearance but a relatively friendly and elusive character.

It was Uta who crafted Ken Kaneki’s famous mask following his transformation into a half-ghoul. He also has a long-standing relationship with Renji Yomo: the two fought each other on several occasions when they were younger before becoming close friends. Itori is also part of this circle of long-standing acquaintances.

Behind his work as a mask-maker, however, Uta has a far darker side. *Tokyo Ghoul* reveals that he belongs to the Pierrots, a particularly unpredictable organisation of ghouls that intervenes on several occasions in the conflicts between Tokyo’s various factions. The official Weekly Young Jump website also confirms that Uta continues to make masks for Kaneki and the Quinx whilst remaining affiliated with the Pierrots.

This Grandista figurine specifically captures Uta’s most iconic image: that of the enigmatic mask-maker from the 4th district, recognisable by his tattoos, piercings, red eyes and all-black attire.
