POSCA are markers with water-based pigment that write on almost anything: paper, wood, fabric, glass, metal, stone and plastic.
Their signature is that the colour is opaque and covering — you write light colour over a dark surface, which ordinary markers cannot do. They come in many nib widths, from fine to brush.

- What surfaces do they write on?
- Almost all: paper, wood, fabric, glass, metal, stone, plastic, leather. That is why they are used across such varied work.
- Are they permanent?
- On porous surfaces such as paper and wood, yes. On smooth surfaces such as glass they clean off — which is useful for temporary marking.
- What does PC-5BR mean?
- The code indicates the nib type. BR is a brush nib for free lines, while the numbers indicate width from fine to broad.
- How do I start a new one?
- Press the nib up and down on scrap paper until the colour flows. Shake the marker with the cap on first.
