Metallica
Metallica
T-shirts, posters, bags and gifts – officially licensed products.
The band is in the middle of a world tour that began in 2023 and continues through 2026, with European dates at major stadiums.
In practice: demand for official merchandise is elevated while the tour is under way – and official shirts frequently sell out at the venues themselves.
It is unusual and worth knowing: in each city they play two nights, and the second night's set does not repeat a single song from the first.
Combined with a circular stage in the middle of the stadium, it means anyone attending both nights hears essentially their entire career.
The logo with its sharp-edged lettering is among the most recognisable in music – and it has passed onto clothing, posters and skin for decades.
It works without a photograph, without an album and without an era. It is the safest choice in the category.
One has been listening since the 1980s and 1990s. The other discovered them recently, through streaming and television – a wave of new listeners that brought decades-old songs back into the foreground.
For a gift that means age will not help you guess. The buyer might be fifteen or fifty-five – and the logo works in both cases.
