Meaning of the S.O.C range

The Portrait.Of.Pirates “S.O.C” collection depicts popular characters from One Piece in calm and relaxed poses, usually seated in a chair or armchair.

Unlike ranges focused on combat and dynamic poses, S.O.C favours a more intimate presentation. The characters are depicted in moments of rest, highlighting their personality, elegance and natural presence.

The designation ‘Ver.R’ here refers to a new edition of the figurine featuring a partially revised colour scheme. The sculpting and overall concept remain based on the original S.O.C version.

Origin and backstory of the character

Sanji is the cook of the Straw Hat crew. Raised on the floating restaurant Baratie by Zeff, he joined Luffy with the dream of discovering All Blue, a legendary sea where fish from all the oceans are said to meet.

An expert cook, Sanji generally refuses to use his hands in combat so as to preserve them for his trade. He has therefore developed a fighting style based entirely on rapid and powerful leg techniques.

He also stands out for his smart appearance, his suit and his gallant behaviour towards women. Behind his sometimes over-the-top demeanour, however, lies a loyal, intelligent fighter who is prepared to sacrifice himself to protect his companions.

His family history, explored in particular during the Whole Cake Island arc, reveals that he is also Vinsmoke Sanji, a member of the Germa 66 royal family.
