The young sorceress Fern joins Banpresto’s Sitting Figure collection with this figurine inspired by the series *Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End*. She is depicted in a calm and reserved seated pose, true to her serious nature and her role as Frieren’s apprentice and travelling companion.

Fern has her legs tucked in front of her and her hands resting on her knees. This compact pose highlights her attentive expression and allows the figurine to be displayed on a shelf, a desk or the edge of a piece of furniture, without requiring a large display area.

The sculpture captures her long purple hair, her dark cloak and her characteristic light-coloured outfit. The strands of hair framing her face, the folds of her clothing and the subtle colour tones all help to recreate the young mage’s understated and elegant appearance as seen in the anime.

Character background and lore

Fern is a young human sorceress and one of Frieren’s main travelling companions. A war orphan from the southern regions, she was taken in and raised by Heiter, the former priest of the group of heroes who defeated the Demon King.

As Heiter’s health began to fail, he asked Frieren to teach Fern magic. The young girl trained with great discipline and quickly developed an exceptional mastery of mana control, an essential quality for concealing her power and taking her opponents by surprise.

After Heiter’s death, Fern accompanies Frieren on her new journey northwards. Their relationship gradually evolves beyond that of a mere teacher and her apprentice. Fern regularly looks after the elf, whose sense of time, lack of organisation and daily habits can prove difficult to manage.

Despite her young age, Fern shows herself to be particularly mature and responsible. She often acts as the most level-headed member of the group, particularly when faced with Frieren’s disorganised behaviour or Stark’s sometimes impulsive reactions. The anime’s official website points out, however, that she also retains the emotions and reactions of a young girl her age.

Fern specialises primarily in traditional offensive magic. Her speed of incantation, her precision and her ability to finely control her energy enable her to cast numerous spells in quick succession and to rival much more experienced mages.

Her talent also enables her to pass the first-class mage examination, a distinction reserved for magic users capable of demonstrating exceptional power, mastery and adaptability.

Her journey with Frieren gives her the opportunity to discover new regions, face demons and gradually forge her own identity. She also develops a special bond with Stark, the young warrior trained by Eisen, although their interactions are often marked by awkwardness, misunderstandings and Fern’s reproaches.

The calm pose of this figurine perfectly matches her personality. Fern appears attentive and disciplined, as if she were patiently waiting for Frieren to finish a magical investigation or finally decide to set off again.
