The supervillain and mercenary Boomerang joins the Marvel Legends Series collection with this 15 cm articulated figure. Part of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day range, this figure pays tribute to one of Spider-Man’s recurring adversaries, with a design directly inspired by his classic costume from the Marvel comics.

The figure depicts Fred Myers in his blue and purple outfit, adorned with several motifs reminiscent of his favourite weapon. His mask, armour and the boomerangs sculpted onto his costume reflect the key visual elements that have characterised the character since his earliest adventures.

Measuring approximately 15 cm, Boomerang features a fully articulated design with a movable head, arms and legs. The numerous points of articulation allow you to recreate various throwing, combat or confrontation poses against other characters from the Marvel Legends range.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Boomerang, whose real name is Fred Myers, is an Australian-born criminal and mercenary. After moving to the United States as a child, he developed a passion for baseball and honed his pitching skills to the point where he joined a professional team.

His sporting career came to an end when it was discovered that he had been accepting money to deliberately throw matches. Permanently banned from baseball, Fred then used his exceptional accuracy to become a costumed mercenary specialising in the use of modified boomerangs.

His arsenal includes various types – some explosive, some sharp, some smoke-emitting, and others equipped with specialised technology. Thanks to his training, he can calculate their trajectories with precision, hit hard-to-reach targets and attack his opponents from multiple directions.

Boomerang first appeared in *Tales to Astonish* No. 81, published in 1966. He initially faced off against the Hulk before becoming a recurring adversary of Spider-Man and several other Marvel heroes. In particular, he joined criminal organisations such as the Sinister Syndicate, alongside characters such as Beetle, Speed Demon, Rhino and Hydro-Man.

He also led his own incarnation of the Sinister Six, demonstrating that his experience and opportunism sometimes allow him to occupy a more prominent position than that of a mere henchman.

The relationship between Boomerang and Spider-Man takes a more unusual turn when Fred temporarily becomes Peter Parker’s flatmate. Without immediately knowing Peter’s secret identity, he attempts to gain his trust whilst continuing his criminal activities and manipulating various adversaries.

Although he regularly seeks wealth and recognition, Boomerang often falls victim to his own lies, his arrogance and his overly ambitious plans. This combination of genuine danger, opportunism and humour makes him one of Spider-Man’s most distinctive secondary adversaries.
