DJI – Drones, action cameras & microphones
Chinese company since 2006
DJI dominates consumer drones and has expanded into Osmo action cameras, stabilising gimbals and wireless microphones.
The DJI Mic systems have become a reference for content creators: a small clip-on transmitter, a receiver on the camera or phone, and recording that continues even if the signal drops.

Frequently asked questions about DJI
- Do I need a licence for a drone?
- In Europe rules apply according to weight and category. Most consumer drones require operator registration — check with the relevant authority before flying.
- What do ND filters do?
- They reduce the light reaching the sensor so you can keep a slow shutter speed in bright sun. Without them, video looks choppy and unnatural.
- What does DJI Mic do?
- A wireless microphone system with a transmitter that clips to clothing. It also records locally on the transmitter, so you do not lose audio if the signal drops.
- What is Care Refresh?
- A replacement programme in case of damage. It covers accidents that the warranty does not.
