Harry Potter is a fantasy novel sequel written by J. K. Rowling, whose original saga ended in 2007. A new play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, based on a story by J. K. Rowling and directed by John Tiffany, played in London in 2016. The books and script for the play have been translated into French by Jean-François Ménard.
The saga follows the adventures of an apprentice wizard named Harry Potter and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, run by Albus Dumbledore. The main plot of the series follows young Harry Potter as he battles a powerful and immortal Black Mage, Lord Voldemort, who once murdered his parents; For decades, Voldemort has sought to seize power over the wizarding world through a group of loyal followers of dark magic known as the Death Eaters.
