Origin and character lore
In the history of Gothic cinema and Mary Shelley’s literature, Frankenstein’s Monster is the result of Dr Henry Frankenstein’s obsessive and forbidden scientific experiments. Seeking to unlock the secrets of life and death, the scientist assembles pieces of human bodies collected from cemeteries before bringing his creature to life using the energy of a lightning bolt on a stormy night. Rejected by his creator because of his terrifying appearance and condemned to utter solitude, this giant with a childlike mind and colossal strength finds himself hunted by an angry mob. Although perceived as a destructive monster, he is, above all, a tragic and misunderstood figure in search of love and acceptance. This soft toy celebrates the founding icon of Hollywood’s Golden Age of monster films, originally portrayed by Boris Karloff.
