Origin and background of the character (Lore)
Created in 1945 by the Finnish novelist and illustrator Tove Jansson, Moomintroll (often simply called Moomin) is a curious, sensitive and deeply kind little white troll who lives with his parents in a large blue house in the heart of an idyllic valley.
