KASANE TETO - Kasane Teto Baguette C - Mini plush toy 11cm

This FuRyu mini soft toy depicts Kasane Teto in the ‘Baguette C’ variant. Standing approximately 11 cm tall, it portrays the character in a chibi style with very rounded features, a head that is large in proportion to the body, and a soft fabric finish suitable for a small collectable soft toy.

This ‘C’ version is characterised by a slightly pouting expression, with large, dark blue embroidered eyes, rosy cheeks and a small, stylised mouth. Teto’s famous reddish-brown hair is reproduced with her two twisted strands shaped like drills, as well as a small strand on the top of her head. The character wears a beige and cream outfit featuring a red collar, decorative motifs on the front and a dark scalloped border. Her hands are clasped in front of her, giving this version a demure and compact appearance.

Origin and character background (Lore)

Kasane Teto is a virtual singer created collectively by Japanese internet users in 2008. She was initially conceived as an April Fool’s joke presenting a supposed new VOCALOID character. However, the project proved successful enough to go beyond the initial joke: a proper voice library was subsequently developed for the UTAU vocal synthesis software, enabling Teto to become a virtual singer in her own right. She is therefore not, contrary to a common misconception, an official VOCALOID character.

Her story continued in April 2023 with the release of Synthesizer V AI Kasane Teto to mark her fifteenth anniversary. Her official profile describes her as a 31-year-old ‘chimera’, with reddish-brown hair styled into two twisted plaits and a tsundere personality.

French bread is one of the symbols most closely associated with Kasane Teto: her official profile lists it both as one of her favourite foods and as one of the objects that characterise her. The ‘Baguette’ variants of these FuRyu mini soft toys thus make a direct reference to this historic element of the character’s identity.
