KASANE TETO - Kasane Teto Baguette B - Mini plush toy 11cm

This FuRyu mini soft toy depicts Kasane Teto in the ‘Baguette B’ variant. Standing approximately 11 cm tall, it offers a chibi interpretation of the character, with a head that is very large in proportion to her body and rounded features suited to the soft toy format.

This version is particularly notable for Teto’s peaceful expression: her eyes are closed, her little mouth forms a stylised smile and her cheeks are highlighted with pink. Her reddish-brown hair retains the two striking twisted strands characteristic of the character. Here, she wears a richly decorated beige and cream outfit, with a red collar, embroidered motifs on the front and a scalloped hem at the bottom of the garment. Her hands are clasped in front of her, giving this version a particularly calm and endearing demeanour.

Character background and lore

Kasane Teto is a virtual singer created collectively on the internet in 2008. She was originally conceived by users of the Japanese forum 2channel as an April Fool’s Day prank presenting a supposed new VOCALOID character. However, the project quickly grew beyond the initial joke: a full-fledged voice library was developed for the UTAU voice synthesis software, enabling Teto to become a virtual singer used in numerous fan compositions and creations. Contrary to a common misconception, Kasane Teto is therefore not an official VOCALOID character.

Her evolution continued notably in April 2023 with the release of the Synthesizer V AI Kasane Teto, developed to mark her fifteenth anniversary. Her official profile states that she is 31 years old, has the nature of a ‘chimera’, has reddish-brown hair styled in twin braids, and has a tsundere personality.

The French baguette is an integral part of the character’s identity: Kasane Teto’s official profile explicitly states that French bread is not only her favourite food but also one of her signature items. The ‘Baguette’ theme of this soft toy range thus directly references one of the most iconic elements associated with Teto since her inception.
