WINNIE THE POOH - Winnie - Mug 340ml

Rediscover the charm of Winnie the Pooh with this 340 ml porcelain mug designed by Egan under official Disney licence. Ideal for everyday hot or cold drinks, it combines a classic shape with a delicate design inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood.

The main design features Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, depicted facing each other amidst flowers and small plant motifs drawn in a style reminiscent of watercolour. Winnie, of course, wears his signature red jumper, whilst Piglet adds touches of pink to the design. The inside of the mug is decorated with a wide honey-yellow border bearing the inscription ‘Winnie’, continuing the character’s warm theme.

Made from New Bone China, this mug has a 340 ml capacity, making it suitable for coffee, tea, hot chocolate or herbal teas. Egan confirms that it is dishwasher and microwave safe, meaning it can be used regularly rather than being reserved solely for display.

Origin and backstory of the characters (Lore)

Winnie the Pooh is one of the iconic inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood. By nature peaceful, kind-hearted and sometimes dreamy, he is particularly well known for his love of honey. Disney describes him as a loyal friend, always ready to help the other inhabitants of the forest.

Among his closest companions is Piglet, whose shy nature contrasts with Winnie’s reassuring simplicity. Despite his many worries, Piglet regularly accompanies his friend on his little adventures and shows courage when the situation demands it. Their relationship is one of the most enduring friendships in the world originally created around Christopher Robin.

The setting chosen by Egan perfectly illustrates this aspect of their world: rather than an action scene, Pooh and Piglet are depicted in a peaceful, flower-filled environment, in keeping with the themes of friendship, kindness and the joy of simple things that have long characterised Winnie the Pooh.
