WINNIE THE POOH - Eeyore - Mug 340ml

Winnie the Pooh – Eeyore – 340 ml mug

Meet Eeyore with this 340 ml porcelain mug designed by Egan under official Disney licence. Part of the Winnie the Pooh collection, this mug combines a size perfect for everyday drinks with a charming, colourful design featuring the famous little donkey from the Hundred Acre Wood.

The main design features Eeyore accompanied by Tigger, who is perched on his back. The characters are surrounded by small flowers, leaves, hearts and even a little ladybird, in a light, illustrated style reminiscent of watercolour. The inside of the mug features a pastel blue finish with a marbled effect, complemented by the handwritten inscription ‘Eeyore’ near the rim.

Made from New Bone China, this mug has an official capacity of 340 ml. Egan also confirms that it is dishwasher and microwave safe, making it suitable for everyday use with coffee, tea, hot chocolate or other drinks.

Origin and backstory of the character (Lore)

Eeyore is one of the most recognisable inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood. Naturally melancholic and pessimistic, he has a particular fondness for thistles and rarely seems enthusiastic about his surroundings. Disney emphasises, however, that his loyalty to his friends remains one of his key qualities, particularly when they help him find his famous tail.

His calm temperament contrasts sharply with that of Tigger, an exuberant, enthusiastic character who is always ready to drag others along on his adventures. Disney describes Tigger as brimming with energy and keen to share his enthusiasm with those around him, even when they aren’t necessarily ready to keep up with him.

Egan’s decision to feature Tigger and Piglet together on the same mug plays precisely on this contrast in their characters: one is boisterous and expressive, the other reserved and resigned. Despite their differences, both are part of the same circle of friends and, in their own way, embody the themes of friendship and mutual support that underpin the world of Winnie the Pooh.
