Origin and character background (Lore)

Winnie the Pooh lives in the Hundred Acre Wood alongside Christopher Robin, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore and their other friends. Disney portrays him as a loyal companion who is always ready to help his neighbours, even though his adventures are regularly influenced by his great love of honey.

The character has his origins in the stories by A. A. Milne. The first collection of Winnie-the-Pooh stories was published in October 1926, making 2026 the year of his centenary. Disney is officially celebrating these 100 years by highlighting, in particular, the values of friendship, kindness and the joy of simple things that have characterised Winnie since his early days.

The design of this Egan bowl is a direct reflection of this identity: a smiling Winnie, surrounded by natural motifs and, above all, a prominent visual reference to honey – one of the elements most closely associated with the character since his earliest adventures.
