Origin and background of the character
Rafiki is the mystical, eccentric and profoundly wise old mandrill who serves as shaman, royal advisor and spiritual guardian at the heart of the animated cinematic masterpiece The Lion King, the timeless classic from Disney Studios. Living within his ancestral baobab tree, he is the one who introduces the young heir Simba to the animals of the savannah from the summit of Pride Rock during the memorable opening sequence. Guiding the protagonists through philosophical riddles and sometimes hard-hitting lessons about the past, Rafiki embodies the inseparable link between generations, memory and the eternal balance of the Circle of Life.
This 20 cm figure from the "Cable Guys" collection perfectly captures the character’s tribal presence, mischievousness and anthropomorphic design. The sculpture meticulously highlights the details of his grey fur, the characteristic blue and red markings on his baboon-like face, his textured white beard, and his facial expression imbued with benevolent serenity. His ape-like arms stretch forward to form an ergonomic and secure resting platform, keeping your game controllers or smartphones within easy reach. It is an absolute must-have for any gamer wishing to add a touch of wild nostalgia, texture and practicality to their gaming setup or desk.
