KIRBY - Waddle Dee - Figure Amicot Petit 5cm

KIRBY – Waddle Dee – Amicot Petit figurine, 5 cm

Banpresto / Bandai Spirits presents Waddle Dee as part of the Amicot Petit collection, a range of small figurines whose design replicates the appearance of a crocheted character. Standing approximately 5 cm tall, this version captures Waddle Dee’s round and instantly recognisable silhouette, with his orange body, beige face and little yellow feet.

Despite its amigurumi-style appearance, this is in fact a rigid figurine: the surface is sculpted with a knitted or crocheted texture to mimic the look of hand-knitted or crocheted fabric. This visual style is characteristic of the Amicot Petit range, whose previous Kirby and Waddle Dee editions were made from PVC and also measured approximately 5 cm.

Origin and character lore

Waddle Dees are amongst the most common inhabitants of Dream Land, the world in which many of Kirby’s adventures take place. Nintendo describes them as generally harmless creatures, although some loyally serve King DaDiDou. Their simple appearance — round bodies, beige faces and small feet — makes them one of the franchise’s most recognisable designs.

However, a Waddle Dee is not always just a simple opponent. Several games cast certain members of the species in much more significant roles. In *Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards*, for example, a Waddle Dee accompanies Kirby on his adventure, whilst Bandana Waddle Dee has become a recurring ally wielding a spear throughout the series.

This Amicot Petit figurine returns to the classic Waddle Dee design, without any weapons or specific accessories. Its originality lies in its crochet-style rendering: Banpresto transforms the character’s already very round shapes into a small sculpture reminiscent of an amigurumi, whilst maintaining a rigid construction suitable for display.
