FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST - Edward Elric - Figure Grandista 25cm

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST – Edward Elric – Grandista 25 cm collectable figure

Meet Edward Elric, the famous Fullmetal Alchemist from Fullmetal Alchemist, with this collectable figurine from Banpresto / Bandai Spirits’ Grandista range. Standing approximately 25 cm tall, it features the generous scale characteristic of this collection and particularly highlights the hero’s silhouette, outfit and iconic Automail.

Edward is depicted in a determined pose, his right Automail arm stretched forward, palm open. His long red coat is thrown back as if swept up by the movement, revealing his torso as well as the detailed mechanical elements of his shoulder and artificial arm. His blond hair, plait, black trousers, chained belt and wide boots faithfully recreate his iconic appearance.

The back of the coat also features the Flamel symbol, a recurring motif associated with the Elric brothers. The metallic paint applied to the Automail contrasts with the matt tones of the outfit and the deep red of the coat, allowing the sculpture’s various textures to stand out clearly.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Edward Elric is the main protagonist of Fullmetal Alchemist, a manga created by Hiromu Arakawa. Together with his younger brother Alphonse, he attempts as a child to use alchemy to bring their mother back to life. This forbidden human transmutation ends in tragedy: Edward loses his left leg, whilst Alphonse loses his entire body. Edward then sacrifices his right arm to bind his brother’s soul to a suit of armour.

His lost limbs are replaced by mechanical prostheses known as Automail, maintained in particular by his childhood friend Winry Rockbell. Edward subsequently becomes a State Alchemist and is awarded the title of Fullmetal Alchemist, whilst searching with Alphonse for the legendary Philosopher’s Stone, which they hope to use to regain their original bodies.

Beyond his abilities as an alchemist, Edward is characterised by his intelligence, his impulsive nature and his determination to protect his brother. His Automail plays a vital role in his battles: he can use it directly as protection or incorporate it into his transmutations, making his mechanical arm one of the visual elements most immediately associated with the character.

This Grandista figurine specifically chooses to highlight this feature: the Automail arm is fully extended forwards, whilst the wide-open red cloak enhances the sense of movement and gives Edward a combat-ready stance.
