EVANGELION - Asuka Langley "Uniform" - Figure XStellar 19cm

This XStellar figurine from SEGA Goods depicts Shikinami Asuka Langley in her school uniform, as she appears in the *Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition* film series. Made from PVC, it stands approximately 19 cm tall and depicts a scene directly inspired by the character’s everyday life away from combat aboard the EVA-02.

Asuka is depicted leaning forwards, one hand resting firmly on a school desk whilst the other is brought back behind her. Her open mouth and determined gaze perfectly capture her energetic and assertive personality. The figurine features her long red hair as well as her distinctive red accessories positioned on either side of her head.

Her outfit consists of a predominantly blue-green uniform worn over a white short-sleeved blouse, with a small red bow on the chest. Long white socks trimmed with red and light blue shoes complete the look. The desk forms an integral part of the composition, transforming the figurine into a veritable miniature classroom scene rather than a mere static representation of the character

This version has also been designed to be paired with an XStellar figurine of Rei Ayanami in her school uniform, allowing you to create a cohesive scene featuring the two pilots in their everyday surroundings. Unlike the many Asuka figurines in plugsuits, this edition emphasises her identity as a schoolgirl and her particularly expressive character.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Shikinami Asuka Langley is one of the main Evangelion pilots in the film series Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition. Introduced in *Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance*, she is the pilot of Evangelion Unit-02 and holds the title of ‘Second Girl’. The official profile describes her as originally from Germany, with red as the signature colour of her plugsuit. Her particularly competitive and forthright nature enables her to quickly make her mark amongst those around her

On her arrival in Japan, Asuka joins Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami in the fight against the Angels. An experienced pilot and extremely proud of her abilities, she initially regards piloting the EVA as a way of proving her worth and finds it difficult to rely on others. This independence and her explosive temperament contrast sharply with Rei’s reserve and Shinji’s more hesitant demeanour. The official Evangelion website presents her arrival at the controls of the EVA-02 as one of the key elements of Evangelion: 2.0.

This XStellar figurine, however, chooses to set aside her role as a pilot to depict Asuka in her everyday school life. Her desk, uniform and particularly lively expression are reminiscent of the scenes in which the pilots attempt to lead a relatively normal teenage life between NERV operations. This juxtaposition of everyday school life and battles against the Angels is one of the recurring contrasts in the Evangelion universe.
