Origin and character lore
In Hayao Miyazaki’s 2008 feature film, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, Ponyo — originally named Brünnhilde by her father — is a magical little goldfish girl, daughter of the ocean wizard Fujimoto and the goddess of the sea.
